Victoriahuset and its glass pavilions accommodate exciting exhibitors such as Elsa Billgren, Agneta & Carolina Gynning and Lisa Abelsson, whose sculptures can be seen in the garden too.
Villa Abelin features several different exhibitions in the summer: Björn Persson whose fantastic photographs have managed to draw attention to endangered animals in Africa: Fernand Fonssagrives, one of the first practitioners of what is now known as Beauty Photography.
As early as a hundred years ago Rudolf Abelin pointed out the importance of having a special place for children in the garden.
Therefore it is really nice that Hasse Andersson, a versatile Swedish artist, now has created a childishly funny and colourful garden for children at Norrviken. It is designed to encourage children to play, sparkle interest and discover the wonders of growing plants. A garden full of music and nice surprises!
New this year is a tribute garden made in the spirit of Ulla Molin, a famous Swedish landscape gardener, by another well-known garden profile, Heidi Palmgren.
Ulla Molin was a pioneer within the modern, functional residential garden, well-known today, innovative in the 1960s. She recommended a garden with many separate rooms, just like a home. The vegetation had to have a distinct structure of greenery, clearly defined and cut back, contrasting with untouched, bushy parts. Here you will find a lot of inspiration to bring home to your own garden.
Knowledge makes us grow. This year we will invite you to workshops, lectures and courses, inspired by our gardens. We will be visited by Sara Bäckmo, Cecilia Wingård, Gunnel Karlsson, Annika Christensen and Lisen Sundgren.
Every year we seek inspiration for a current theme in one of our period gardens at Norrviken. Inspired by the past we make our interpretation of the ideals of the baroque by means of baroque-inspired art, music, flower experiences, food, drink and a lot more.
A warm welcome to a completely ”baroque” year!
The restaurant, Orangeriet restaurang, serves carefully prepared dishes made from regional ingredients. In 2018 it was named Best Restaurant of the Year by Magasinet Skåne, which makes us very proud and happy.
Victoriahuset, the grand Victorian-style greenhouse, was made for special occasions. It is now nominated to the title Sweden’s finest new production of 2018 by Arkitekturupproret. The motivation is that “it is possible to build beautifully even in the 2010s”.
