The British photographer Tim Flach creates meaningful art, sharing the unique personality, character, and story of birds. Flach is known for his captivating and thought-provoking images of the animal kingdom, capturing both strength and vulnerability while highlighting the undeniable connection between humans and animals. Birds is inspired by Flach's research on how empathy can lead to better and more sustainable choices, and has been exhibited worldwide from Paris to Beijing.

It’s never been more important to connect people with nature – our future depends on it.” – Tim Flach

Tim Flach is an honorary member of the Royal Photographic Society and was awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of the Arts London (NUA) in 2013. Tim primarily uses a Hasselblad H4D-60, but it is not the technology itself that fascinates him, but the ideas it enables. He works in London, where he lives with his wife and son.

In his book Birds, we encounter Archaeopteryx, a feathered dinosaur that connects us to the origins of modern birds. The book then follows flightless birds, more specialized species like hummingbirds, and finally poultry—domesticated and shaped by us. The book, like the exhibition, is based on his research into how empathy can lead to environmentally friendly outcomes, sharing the subject's beauty, character, and personality.
